Project 2 was unlike any other project I have ever completed; unlike the majority of the class I enjoyed working on this. The idea of building upon an original piece of literature, transforming it into a new media, then additionally comparing the two through a argumentive essay might seem complex but in reality was not. For me the biggest challenge was coming up with an idea of what to write about, and then figuring out a media that represented this event. i also was very frustereated when writing my argumentive essay because i felt that i couldnt grasp the correct way to argue and i wanted it to be more effective then how it came out. The truth is my movie was not better then my original essay. I believe the reason for this is because i am a stronger free writer then a script writer; and my attempts to humor the audience came out very corny and not funny at all. my argumentive essay was more of a lie essay; but i hope that although it was not nessearily truthful i followed the rubric and completed the requirements. aside from lieing in my paper and struggiling with a topic, the project ran very smoothly and i really did enjoy completing it.

ReplyDeleteI appreciate how truthful this blog post is. You have certainly approached your personal writing process with a substantial level of critical thought, and I maintain that that is a necessary first step to being a successful writer.
As far as the issue of "truth" goes, you have valid concerns, though I would like to urge you to view the matter in another way. It is the mark of a strong writer for someone to be able to put aside their personal thoughts on a subject and approach a topic coolly and analytically. The goal of Project 2 was for you to get into the habit of analyzing a topic independently of your personal response to it; if people couldn't put aside their immediate visceral reaction to writing, then there's a substantial number of books that would have been burned a long time ago.
In any case, your free response post hit all the benchmarks I would have in looking for a reasonable approach to the assignment. Thank you for the thought you've put into this.
