Sorta Excited
I am sort of excited about the up coming project for a single reason. Being able to choose the single, Kurt Vonnegut, short story that stricks my fancy to anaylse is the only resounding highlight. I loath researching with every inch of my being! Every teacher, in my personal experience mind you, can find a different way of telling you have done something wrong when it comes to researching. One such scary aspect of researching is the prospect of plagerism. How possibly can one plagerize a paper when they read though all of the information and go off of memory to piece together a researched argument? I have never plagerized in my life but I'm always afriad that some instructer is trying to find ways of claiming plagerisium. Citations, citations, CITATIONS!!!! So many rules so many ways to screw up and lose points. Such a headache. However, I do realise that all of these aspects are very important and I have respect for them, but it doesn't mean I have to like all of these rules. Like I had said previously I am excited to pick one short story of my choosing. That's my little spat about how much I hate researching.

ReplyDeleteI know you have been reading Welcome to the Monkey House on your own time, and as such I have high hopes for your contributions to class discussion.
As far as the issue of plagiarism goes, you are right to identify it as a concern, but wrong if you let it stress you out to any significant degree. We'll discuss in class the necessary steps to citing other authors' work so that you don't have to worry about any accusations.
Thank you for a substantive and well thought out response.
