What issue will you be discussing for your paper and presentation? What stance on that issue will you be taking? What sort of evidence will you be using to back up this argument? What problems/difficulties do you anticipate for this project?

ReplyDeleteI had a really difficult time thinking of something I can actually get up in front of the class and talk about. I think that I want to do why mac computers are better than pc. I always had a pc until I went to college. I got a mac because I was afraid I was going to get a lot of viruses on my computer while here at Kent. Ever since I got my laptop I have been in love with mac’s. I do not think I will ever be able to go back to having a pc. I will find evidence in supporting why mac’s are better, safer, and easier to use than a pc. They might be more expensive, but well worth your money. I think it will be hard to find things that are going to persuade my audience that are true at heart pc’ers.
ReplyDeletei think i am going to go ahead and take the cake here by arguing why marijuanna should be legal. So many people are very against marijuaanna and rightfully so, i mean it is illegal righst? im going to prove with evidense why it should be legalized, and why it is not as harmfull as many people think it is. Hopefully this topic does not affend anyone, and we get a good discussion out of it.
ReplyDeleteI really had no idea what to do for a persuasive speech in our class. I finally thought of telling the importance of why college students should attend class. I will give reasons why everyone should attend their classes and I will back it up with information on how it effects grades and all the money wasted by sleeping in an extra few hours in the day. Some problems could be people thinking it is okay to miss a few classes and another problem that could occur for me is not finding enough support my argument and I might have to change my idea.
ReplyDeleteI really want to pick something that won't bore the class to death. Unfortunately this is rather difficult, seeing that every topic I think of bores me. I'm leaning toward 2012. I don't think that its boring, and I feel like I could learn a lot. theres a lot of bull crap out there, so finding real facts about it might be tough. I could go either way on the debate though, so I'll have to think about which side I'll choose.
ReplyDeleteI had a very difficult time trying to think of a topic for my persuasive speech. It is hard trying to find a topic that will offend the least amount of people. For now, the topic that I am choosing is the Cleveland Cavaliers and why they are the best team in the league. Also why Lebron James is the MVP of the league and why he deserves it. I'm assuming that not everyone in the class likes the Cavs, but everyone in the class should "like" or at least "admire" Lebron James for his talent and what he has done for our franchise here in Cleveland!!
ReplyDeleteMy first topic I had thought about presenting was about health care reform, until the rule of "no politics" was stated. After someone in the class brought up presenting why marijuana should be legalized I thought it would be fun to present why marijuana should remain illegal. I don't really see too many problems or difficulties on this topic, and I love public speaking, so I am actually looking forward to this project.
ReplyDeletemy topic is why its great to be able to play the guitar. im choosing this topic because i envy people that have this talent. i will present the variouse reasons and bonus of having this abiliy. my greatest obsticle that i might face would be coming up with enough reasons for five pages. my evidence will be other musicians
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to decide on a topic. I tossed around a few until I ended up choosing why its better to experience music live versus hearing through Mp3 or other audio devices. I really agree with this statement and I feel that it won't be to hard to gather information and backup evidence to support my case. Music is an awesome form of art and to experience it right in front of you is something you should never miss out on.
ReplyDeleteMy topic of discussion will be that PUGS are THE best dog an individual could purchase for any type of living situations. For this topic i'll will use Pug facts and the reason behind developing this breed in the first place. I also intend on using any kind of polls I can find to support my reasoning. I am looking to run along some trouble finding information to back up my stance but I am going to stick with it. I am super excited to work on this project now that I am doing this topic.
ReplyDeleteAfter realizing that most of the good topics that actually interest me have already been taken it is hard to choose what to talk about. After looking at some topics listed online i think im either going to choose steroids and why they should be legal in professional sports, or how celebrities and athletes should not be paid as much as they are being paid. Some difficulty's would be trying to find a decent amount of information to make either of those topics interesting.
ReplyDeletemy issue will be that of the reliability and the physicality of books (magazines, journals, etc.) and the internet, such as online journals, mmorpg's, and videos. this will be my presentation. my paper, however, will be constructed under the issue of information and communication within these two less talked topics. i will strive to place quotes within my paper and pictures, along with admirable results, for my presentation.

Last night I was watching a show about ghosts and my friend Emalee reccomended writing my paper on ghosts.I believe in ghosts and I think that writing about ghosts would be a good different and interesting paper :) It would also be creepy and fun to research and I will probably be able to show the existence of ghosts and other spirits and such by researching people's experiences with spirits and ghosts.
ReplyDeleteI topic for this project was a little hard to choose because I wanted to find something that I could stay interested in and that would not be so boring. I chose to do the taco bell diet and the subway diet and why the subway diet is better for you. I think that this will be something that I can find information easy and something kind of interesting. The difficult part would be finding the information and convincing the taco bell lovers that subway is better.
ReplyDeleteThe topic i will present is why Lebron James is better than Kobe Bryant. Being a cavaliers fan I will present the stats and the reasons why i believe he is better than kobe my difficulties will be making it 5 pages long and not just filling it with unneeded information.
